The Need:
-
1 in 3 kids face bias at school
-
30% of youth admit to taking part in identity-based bullying
-
70% of youth have witnessed bias incidents
When bystanders step in and stand up, bullying stops within 10 seconds 57% of the time.
No single factor puts a child at risk of being bullied and bullying can happen anywhere: cities, suburbs, rural areas.
Interrupting bias incidents and bullying often prevents escalation. It also leads to better outcomes for all learners. |
